Honestly I hated doing blog posts this year and I think it just mad it worse going into class and seeing BLOG POSTS DUE EVERY FRIDAY! This didn't really help me notice anything new about myself as a reader because I believe that these posts are way too similar to what we had to do last year if someone had Mr. Ravin as a teacher. I guess i could benefit from this experience that I got used to doing extra work every single week so that could help me later on in life if I have something similar due at around the same time.
I personally like writing in a notebook than on a computer because I'm not a big fan of doing everything on a computer. It's similar to the feeling of actually turning a page in a book I just like writing with a pencil or pen. I don't think that many people are real online and I think we use have different personalities when we write publicly. I know I have done that a lot and in no way would I be saying anything similar to what I'm writing when I am just talking with a friend. As for teenagers abusing power on websites online. I definitely think many many kids talk badly about others more than I don;t think this is a very good thing to do but it is good that kids can express themselves online. (Or at least some of the time it's good.)
Overall I can't see myself keeping up with this blog anymore just like what happened to the ning (Mr. Ravin students know.) once in a while I will come back to check on this and reminisce but I will not be writing anything more about my book(s). So goodbye blogspot and blog posts.
This is Japanese Grilled Cheese and this is my last blog post...

Prison...A bad bad place for people that don't actually seem so bad. Oh wait but the crazy bad people too. (Spoiler alert)
Alright so I just finished Life In Prison by Williams Stanley Tookie and I really like this book but it makes me feel bad for what happens to Tookie throughout his days in prison. The book was about his time in prison and what happened to him throughout those painful days behind those cold steel bars.
In the book, a man named Stanley "Tookie" Williams suffers life in prison with nothing to do except stay in a cell almost all the day. However he does find ways to keep himself from going insane and keep his body strength up.This book really taught me a lot about how I have to respect the rules and laws. Where ever I am. Otherwise I would end up getting strip searched, beaten up, and many many other foul and upsetting things.
As I said before, the book really makes you fell bad for Stanley, because he makes it seem that he did nothing wrong and he exaggerated about what they did to him in jail. With all the diseases, blather explosions, and severe injuries either caused by a jail guard or another cell mate. When Prisoners broke any rules within the cell they would have to serve time in the "hole". The hole is a dark cell underground that without any windows and many limitations to the cell store to buy supplies such as pencils, paper, etc.
The "hole" reminds me a lot of "time outs" that I used to have when I was a young boy.I used to have to stay in a corner or in the bathroom with only dinner to look forward to.
I don't think that Tookie actually deserved to be put in jail. I believe he seemed like a regular person that got in trouble once in his life for shoplifting or even maybe got accused for something he didn't do. Still I don't think he should have been executed. I thought you could only get executed if you committed a murder?
Tookie seemed like the only sane person in his prison. He drew, watched t.v, wrote books (including this one), read a lot, worked out at least 3 times a week (without getting into a fight once), wrote letters to his family, and so much more. He seemed like the only person that could actually keep their mind and not go crazy in their cell after being trapped there for over 4 years.
Overall the book really taught me a lot about how to survive jail (which I probably won't ever have to do, and that I need to follow rules correctly if I don't want to be executed on December 13, just like Tookie did.

darkness in the heart.
So recently i have picked up the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and although it is a very well written book it is not very appealing to me. However it is rather easy to come up with things to write about.
I am only about 20 pages in the book so far and let me tell you, it is, as Ms. Rear said, a very dense book. In the book one of the characters Marlow goes into this long story (Please don't get angry if I'm wrong about this fact I wasn't exactly quite sure about this, and I kind of lost myself somewhere in the book.) about himself as a captain sailing up the congo. ( a river in Africa) later he was sent to a African Village to recover a man named Fresleven's bones, only to find that he was killed by the native tribe their when he tried to attack the village chief.
Later in the book I found out that, the village had been deserted because the natives were superstitious that because they killed a white man, a curse or something would be placed on them and this just made me think a lot about race and discrimination in the world today. Today not many people I know believe that a certain race or color is dominate or more educated or something than others. But years and years ago black and white people couldn't use the same, well, anything. They ere separated in almost every(if not all) public places. I started to question myself about how the discrimination actually started. I know the basics but why did people back hundreds of years ago think that blacks were a lesser race.
I think that they all had some kind of fear of change, and they were afraid to allow this other race into their ordinary lives. People thought that they were lesser and wanted white protestants to be the main race in much if not all of europe and many other places as well.
Anyway now I have to start that prep sheet so I think I'm going to end this blog post here.

Escaping the law
So now since I finished the Alex Rider series I have started reading the book. On The Run. A Mafia Childhood by Gregg and Gina Hill. This book is basically a autobiography written by the two children of a mafia member named "Wise Guy" Henry Hill. In the book the two children talk about their life and what it was like being raised by a person in the Mafia.
In the book i found out that the two kids were only around the age of 5 when their father got arrested for a couple of years. This wasn't as big a shock to the two kids because whenever their father got arrested (Which was several times before this) their mother would only say that "Daddy's going away for a little while" Leaving the kids completely oblivious of what has actually happened. This really surprised me because I never thought a mother would lie like that. I know that their father got arrested but since it's already happened a few times and the children didn't know. When they get old enough to understand what prison is, it will scar them more than if they were told the truth at an earlier age.
I would hate to be the son of a man who is doing illegal things almost every day and Gregg and Gina despise it so much. In the book they speak a lot about how it was really hard being away from their father so much, and when he wasn't in prison he was normally out getting drunk at his bar until 3 am.
Although i am not very far into the book I can already feel the pain that these kids probably went through later on in life. And using what I know about the mafia and what my Grandfather told me about when he was a detective against them. I can see that these poor children have or had a long and terrible childhood ahead.

I...AM...DONE!!!
So i few days ago i finished reading the last book in the Alex Rider series Scorpia Rising by Anthony Horowitz and let me just say I really liked it. Having spent a couple of months (I think) on the series from scorpia to this book I really started to connect with some of the characters and it made me very upset when... well... never mind I won't ruin the book for everyone who hasn't reads it. But when this certain event occurred near the end of the book it was hard for me to actually believe and I had to read it over and over again to make sure i didn't miss anything.
In the book many unexpected things happened and they shocked me very much but what I was thinking about most was how bad all the people in this series behaved. I thought a lot about how this would effect me if I came across any person who would want my organs or actually start a war. I don't know what I would do. I would fight back but not as cleverly as the main character Alex Rider would. This series taught me to observe my surroundings and use anything that I could as something to defend myself, kind of like when Alex used a fire extinguisher to... well... again won't ruin it. (yep I'm doing this on purpose).
Anyway the villains in these books have similar goals and now that i have finished the series I can compare every one of them. In all of these books they all wanted to do something illegal for their own personal gain. Not necessarily for money, but for joy. Many of these villains wanted to do something either to Alex or some other person/thing because that other thing, person or Alex did something to the villain that made him upset or angry.
These villains in these books all have somewhat of a certain goal and I wish there was a little more variety in the books but overall, it was a very good series to read.

Finally I am on the last....um... oh. Book!
Alright so as you can see unless of course you cannot read english that I am on the last book of the series of Alex Rider. I just started reading the last book Scorpia Rising By Anthony Horowitz and I must say that so far it isn't very promising, but then again I just started.
Anyway In my book so far there has been a huge battle in the Museum of London and about 17 out of 50 soldiers have died a rather weird way in war. Many of these soldiers were injected with the tip of a very expensive cane. So during this battle the museum was destroyed and many innocent people were killed in cross fire. This just made me think a lot about how in some cases during war casualties are allowed and many important places are allowed to be destroyed.
And when are these things allowed in war? What do the circumstances have to be in order for this to be allowed? In the recent killing of Osama Bin Laden casualties were not allowed and the U.S navy seals made sure that they wouldn't be any. And the United States government decided not to bomb the compound so many important pieces of information was not destroyed.
So... When are these protocols allowed? As I said before do the circumstances have to be too high? Do the circumstances have to be save the world or allow the world to be destroyed (Which seems to be a lot of the cases in this book), and why is this person in the book so important that this was allowed to be taken, and a wonderful museum allowed to be destroyed.

I'm Back!!!!
Alright so I took a break from reading Crocodile Tears and read the 2nd book in the harry Potter series The Chamber of Secrets By J.K Rowling. But I'm back to it again and plan to finish the series before the end of May.
Anyway in the Last chapter I read Alex the main character just escaped a GM laboratory (genetical modification) and he stole some computer files and a sample of what they were doing. However to acquire this information he had to grab and run. And by doing this he ran into the Poison Dome. A place where they experiment on poison organisms and make the about 500 times more deadly. I found it rather strange that the the people who own this laboratory left the door to such a deadly place open for anyone to aimlessly walk right into this dome and unfortunately puff up and start to well die a very painful death.
Just this small detail really made me start to think a lot. Why can some people be so heartless to their employes and allow their conditions to be so bad. I found a theme among my blog posts and many of them have something to do with greed and money. Well sorry people this one is about that as well. People care so much about money that they are willing and actually do treat their workers as trash. Just for some money.
Well now that I think of it. The idea of Greed and money is actually a big idea in this entire series. Is this series suggesting that all bad people come from the sin that is greed? And if not why does every book, or at least almost every book have a reference of these two ideas?
I wonder...

Relating to class work...
Alright so in my book Crocodile Tears by Anthony Horowitz there is a lot of talk about ethics, and what's right and wrong in this world. Let me just say that this blog was inspired by that long conversation about ethics during class and the very good but sad movie known as The Cove Or as Theo calls it The Cove 2: revenge of the dolphins.
Wow i got off track there
Anyway in this entire series, every book starts out with the main character, Alex Rider, is always stuck between whether or not to get involved with either MI6, the CIA, or the FBI and help them save the world once more. Alex never wants to go on the next mission but he always ends up getting involved only because of what would happen if he didn't. Even if this may be very subtle it really made me think a lot about how some people in this world don't really care about anything but themselves. The ethics of some people whether it's in the real world or just in a fictional story such as Crocodile Tears.
Ethics are what is right and wrong in this world and to everyone it is different. Some people may think differently about ethics but I believe that anyone in this world knows if something terrible is done to an innocent person than it's wrong. And I'm sorry for saying this but if anyone thinks that someone should blow up the united states for revenge on someone who bullied you in school they are just very messed up. In Crocodile Tears Alex is always drawn back to the life of a spy and I think that he is right in trying to save the entire world even if it means risking his life.
I think that these people are worth a little more...

You Are Greedy... This Is Bad
This book actually took me a lot longer than I thought it would but I have about 60 pages left so I am almost done. But anyway in my book Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz In my book I just finished reading a part about some guy that works for this terrorists organization know as the Snakeheads who wants a 14 year old boys organs to sell for over 2 million dollars. He doesn't care anything about the actual child but just on making money.
I think that is really well... messed up, and I think that this man is nothing but a crazy person that again, only cares about money. There are these really greedy people out there in this world that just want more and more they never stop wanting everything. The reason that there would be a "Global Warming" (and I put that in quotes) Is because people in this world just want more and more and are trying to get more than they actually need to survive on this planet. They are using up all the resources and this is why we may be in this crisis.
Anyway this greed that some people have is effecting more than just themselves as they might think. Greed is considered one of the seven deadly sins in Christianity and it is really obvious why. People that are greedy are normally the ones causing trouble if there is any kind of trouble happening. Greed leads to nothing good in life and it only causes trouble to everyone around you. Whether it's Snakehead or some big industry owner, too much greed can and will cause life long sadness and or suffering for whoever has committed it.
You need to know your limits...

Save the Penguins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Revised blog for ELA)
(This is a revised version of my other blog post SAVE THE PENGUINS )
So.... at the moment I am reading Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz, basically what I'm using in that book to base my blog about is that in the book, there is a multimillionaire named Nikolei Drevin that wants to build a hotel in space, but in order for the hotel to actually get up past the Earth's atmosphere, an entire ecosystem must be destroyed and all the organisms there will all get killed. There is this group of people called Force Three that want to preserve and save all the ecosystems on Earth and will stop at nothing to prevent the take off. Even if that means kidnapping his son and chopping off his sons finger, killing the stars of Drevin's Soccer team, or just killing Nikolei Drevin.
I do realize that that was a really long retell but anyway to get to the point this book really makes me think about what some people in this world would do to get everything their way. I'm not talking only about saving ecosystems but almost anything in this world. Don't get me wrong I would hate to see all these innocent animals get slaughtered there but i do think that there are other solutions to many problems in this world.
I find it really weird how some people get their way in this world. Babies cry and scream to get something, little kids do almost the same except mostly just the crying part, and then there's these people who will kill or hire people to kill if they lose an argument about something they think is important. Throughout history there are these people who way to far for these things that they want. The assassination of Lincoln, the assassination of Martin Luther Kings Jr. And those are only 2 examples but what these people do is just too unbelievable.
I don't think that there are any higher species in this planet that we call home. And I certainly don't think that to preserve the over populated human race we should destroy this Earth for more generations to come. Personally I think that we are all to greedy and that;s why groups like Forece three are forming. If we did a better job of preserving this Earth and only using what we need, we can save millions of lives from eco-terrorists or the lack of resources that we need to survive.
Getting back to the book this group called Force Three killed hundreds of people just because they were doing their job. Fore example, they shot a receptionist in the head because he wasn't allowed to tell them what hospital room a patient was in. And even when he told them out of fear they still shot him. I say that yes you have to go to some extremities to get something done right and for the right cause but this group didn't realize that while attempting to do something good for the Earth they are just harming more then they are actually trying to save.
Sometimes you just have to know when to stop...

I'm sorry for the bottom half of my post there is something wrong with how my computer sets up the font. JUST HIGHLIGHT AGAIN
I just started reading Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz. I have been determined to finish this series of books and throughout this series I have been thinking a lot about heroes. In this series there is a 14 year old spy named Alex who, in every book, saves millions of lives around the world. This doesn't need much of a retell since that is basically all you need to know. But anyway, what exactly are heros? In this fictional world that many of us read about we have super heros with super powers, such as super strength, speed, or the ability to read minds. And then there are these heros in our real life that do so much for this world. We take these heros to be selfless and all good.
But why do we call them heros?I mean what would happen if we did have these all good super heros?Soon the human race would become so used to having these people watch out for them that they would start to rely way to much on them. We would be calling them every 5 minutes to help us open a pickle jar or something crazy like that. We call these people heros because of all the help. but remember, everyone has a dark side. Take alex for example. He saves millions of lives every book, but for what cost? Every book he kills someone, maybe not directly, but he always has something to do with someone else's death. Every hero has a selfish and dark side to them.
But if people actually knew about this whether it was a superhero or just someone on the street, would we still think of them as the kind completely good person that they could possibly be, or would we think twice about giving our lives and hopes to this person.
I know everyone can make mistakes, but it's unacceptable with the high stakes that come with being a "hero'

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOUR GOING TO READ ARK ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I have about 5 more pages in my book Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz so this will be my last blog about it.
So I am actually go to talk more about my last blog post idea about the "Going to extremes to get what you want". So at the end of the book (SPOILER) it turns out that Force Three (read last blog for retell) was actually hired by the millionaire Nikolei Drevin to take the blame for (HUGE SPOILER ALERT) the space hotel Ark Angel come crashing down from space to Washington D.C killing thousands. So it turns out that Drevin was actually the evil person in the book.
Now, not only does this make me think about what these people would do even more but now I'm starting to think about how some people have this ability to hide in the shadows while somebody else takes the blame for something you actually did. And I despise these people that do that. To me when someone just sits there and watches another innocent person get punished it's just upsetting. How can someone live with this guilt lingerig over them.s
I'm not saying that Force Three was innocent but they didn't know what they were actually doing for Drevin until Drevin turned on them and shot them all. He would lie to everyone and say they were going to kill Drevin but he had to defend himself so he killed them. I was wrong in my last blog to write about hem going to extremities I should have wrote about Drevin because this is an even bigger example. this guy was just getting fame for doing bad and he allowed his bad deeds to reflect off of someone else. Kinda like when a kid at school gets in trouble for hurting someone else when that other person was instigating it.
What I'm really trying to say is that people shouldn't just sit back and get harmed just because of the promise of money fame or power.
It's time everyone stands up for themselves...

SAVE THE PENGUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So.... at the moment I am reading Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz, basically what I'm using in that book to base my blog about is that in the book, there is a multimillionaire that wants to build a hotel in space but in order for the hotel to actually get up past the Earth's atmosphere, an entire ecosystem must be destroyed and all the organisms there will all get killed since the rockets have to blast fire to get up into the atmosphere. And there is this group of people called Force Three that will stop at nothing to stop the take off. Even if that means kidnapping his son and chopping off his sons finger, or just killing that millionaire.

To think, or not to think, that is the question.
Well as all of Ms. Rears classes know. We are reading Romeo and Juliet, and I don't think that I need to give much of a retell, but to keep it short the main part to remember and thin about is the theme of Love. And how some children's love life is controlled completely by the parents. Juliet's mother and father both want her to marry someone that they like and someone that Juliet hadn't met before.
This made me think about today and how much has changed since then. In the present most of the kids today in the world (I know it's illegal to marry at this age in the U.S) don't get married at age 14, and most kids don't get into any serious relationships at that time of their life. When I think about this I always ask myself. What has changed so much that we look back and say "wow" to the old customs of the 15-16 hundreds. Now I'm not only talking about love but everything they did at that time period. Just the way they live and what they live in will surprise some people.
When we were watching the Bob Luhrmann version of Romeo and Juliet, almost everybody in the class was probably thinking "Wait they just met each other and they're kissing and telling one another how much they love each other?" But I'm guessing that's what actually happened back then. You have to keep in mind that nobody lived very long back then and at 13 your basically an adult.
All of this centered around the question. "What happened that everything changed so much" but ask yourself what you think. You already heard some stuff from me...

Response to a response,
As I was searching through other students blogs I came across Eamon's blog Story Endings. I was reading it and I found it really interesting to think about why I re-read books, since Eamon talks about why he reads books over. He gives several examples of books he has re-read and explains what happens and how that affects whether he reads the book again.
During his response he asks many questions that get me thinking past this blog and into my own reading life. Even though he's not asking us directly, the way he writes about why he thinks the way he thinks it gets whoever is reading this to ask themselves, "Ya, why do I read books over again?" It turns out that I actually sometimes read books over again for the same reason that Eamon does. He says it's because of acceptance, and sometimes you can't accept the way a book ends, and you hope to find something else in the end that you missed before that would allow you to accept the end the way it is because it would have changed after you have found that thing that you were missing before. Eamon doesn't actually explain what he's looking for, or what exactly he want's to change, but it made me think, and I found out that I normally want a character to be brought back to life. Books have this power to make you bond with the characters and actually feel sympathy for them, even though if you just go back to the first page they would be alive again.
I really like how he then relates this theory of why people re-read to why people watch movies or T.V shows over again. And I really liked how he though about Video Games. He thinks that people play video games because they give you the ability to control so much more then you can in real life, but you stay safe. I found this very interesting to think about but I personally don't think that that is true for anybody.
Eamon's past blogs have been well... slightly boring (Sorry Eamon) But I really like how this one was easy to relate to because it was not about one book but books in general that I'm sure everybody in 51 has read at least one book in their life. And the more you read the more interesting you find this blog. So this all depends on how you chose your books and which books you like the most. Without being able to think about these things the less people would enjoy reading this blog and only would because they had to for ELA.

Being Famous: Good? or very very Bad? (Highlight to see)
I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K Rowling, and I started to think (since I read this before) I wonder what would happen if Ron and Harry switched bodies for a day or so. Would Ron then still like popularity?
Speaking of news reporters, Harry can't get away from one who always seems to zoom in on just Harry and not the other champions. Even if Harry is an underage champion and is the first fourth champion, I don't think that the others shouldn't get there part of the game. The reporter Rita Skeeter always makes up these untruthful lies about Harry based on what he told her during the interviews, which really caused Harry a lot of stress from other Hogwarts students.
Many people in this city would love to have fame and fortune, but i've seen what happens. Once your famous you have a bigger chance of someone wanting to murder you, you can't get any privacy because people always want your autograph or news reporters wanting to have an interview at 2:30 in the morning when you're trying to get a good nights sleep after everyone smothering you with their bodies.

The Triwizard tournament is very much like our Olympic games except that not many people die during the Olympics. The Triwizard tournament is between 3 different schools competing for the glory of holding the Triwizard cup. Three champions are selected, one from each school to participate in these games. Just like in the olympics only that many olympians are chosen from each country in the world. Each olympian tries to earn the glory of holding a gold medal that shows outstanding skill in that specific event.

HUMANS ARE ANIMALS TOO!
I picked up Dr. Dolittle just recently and I started to read it, but as i was reading about this extraordinary doctor who could talk to animals, I started to think. Why can't humans talk to animals as most animals can communicate with each other. I don't think of humans as a highbred species, and that in many ways what we call animals are smarter than us. I mean think about it, at birth they have the skills needed to survive when we don't adapt and learn without someone or something guiding us in the right direction. Most humans have to live with guidance until they're at least 16, but "animals" sometimes have to live on their own within the first 6 weeks of their life. But then again what is 6 weeks for us could be 16 years for them. Anyway I'm starting to get off topic.
The reason I'm wondering this is that we are just animals sharing the Earth with other Species, why can't we communicate to everyone on this planet of ours. And even if all species can't understand everyone, They all can somehow communicate with each other and they all know different signs or ways of communication that can signal if it's an enemy or if they're going to help. "Animals" have this ability that Humans cannot do very well. Of course we have some national signals like SOS but this is different.
Animals can understand they're own species. But Humans aren't born with the ability to understand every single language in the world but birds are. Why are we so different then every other animal on this planet. I think that we sometimes forget that we are animals too and we don't think about these things but it's amazing how a simple book can really start an argument in someone's head.
(This is all based on a wild theory No body knows if all animals can talk to everyone.)

The blog post before this was when I literally just started reading the book so I'm writing another one about the same book Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz. Currently in this book Alex Rider (the main character) was just caught for sneaking around the campus of the organization Scorpia (a group of people that are supposedly evil)
and was shoved into a room that was going to be flooded. Alex cleverly found a way out with the help of some adrenaline that gives him a boost of strength.
When I was reading this I started thinking, is every one capable of doing these things that this kid can do? Can everyone pry open metal bars if they are in a life or death situation? Or... does everybody posses the amount of strength to do all of this if they really try?
I know that adrenaline is supposed to give you something like 3 times your normal strength. But does adrenaline give enough strength to save you from almost any situation. I'm pretty sure that it all depends on what kind of shape you are in, but is every human being able to do so much more than they think if they were in the same shape as Alex and had the same kind of training as Alex? I know that he's only a fictional character but still.
I think that we all posses the same power as everybody else in the world. But some people can "unlock" that power better than others. If we all train the same than we all can access this power that some people like Alex posses.

The Next Generation
In the book I am currently reading called Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz there is a small boy who is a spy for a secret agency in London. The reason they recruited a 14 year old boy for extremely dangerous missions is to surprise all the evil people that they are fighting against. Nobody would suspect a boy to destroy all of their plans right? Well that's exactly the thing, no one would think a boy would be skilled enough to do stuff like this. But that's what really makes me think.
It's not only in these books where a boy is not thought to be able to accomplish much but kids are always treated worse than adults, It's something that we all just got used to. Kids are capable of doing so much more than they are thought to be able to. People think that kids are incapable of doing specific things that actually are challenging. This is both a advantage for some people but a disadvantage for some people. Specifically for the book the advantage for the agency is that they have the element of stealth and surprise and a disadvantage for "Scorpia" the evil group of assassins, since they are clueless.
But in real life too it could be an advantage for some kids if they do something that kids aren't thought to do they could get fame and fortune but a disadvantage for others since they could be intimidated by all their peers since no one thinks that they could do it. If no one believes in you, you probably give up easier than if you had support when things start going bad.
These things that people think about kids or... teens can really keep this nation back if we don't allow these teens to actually attempt things that they aren't necessarily supposed to be able to do.

Dang nab those Rotten kids!!!!!!!!!!
In my book Nicholas Again by Goscinny. There are subtle vibes trying to get us to live the "proper" way that people think is right. Just by the way all the teachers act and punish kids for goofing around is secretly trying to tell us the "right" way to live.
Nicholas and his friends don't try to get in trouble but they just can't help it. THEY'RE JUST SMALL KIDS that like to mess with each other and roughhouse. This way of living has been put upon us by all the adults that run our lives. Teachers, parents, government people. They all have been told that it's proper and the right thing to chew with your mouth closed, or to not put your elbows on the table. And they pass it down to us. This way of living hasn't been around forever, it was created by a group of people at some time in history. Think about it cavemen sure didn't live like this. Native americans didn't live like this. It somehow formed over time and has made it's way all around the world to many families.
But if we didn't have these kids or people that break these rules than there wouldn't be any creativity in the world and today wouldn't be today at all if people like Albert Einstein or Galileo didn't disobey what was said and found all of these scientific facts. We would still think the Earth was flat and that you would fall off if you reach the end. Or we wouldn't know that there was actually a universe of millions of stars and hundreds if not thousands of planets.
Without these people disobeying what was right we wouldn't be nearly as advanced as we are today and everybody would probably being wearing a suit and a tie with no expression on their face and their tear ducts dry. Who knows?

The Old France
In my book Nicholas and the Gang by Goscinny and Sempre, There is a huge social norm about young kids and their life style. How they talk, what the do, how they act. This book is taking those things and putting them into the characters of Nicholas's gang and school.
Nicholas is an average school boy that has a nice family and a troublesome gang. They are always getting into trouble whether it is Old spuds their teacher, or the doctors that went to their school. Nicholas has the traits that you would find in any eight year old but the way that him and his gang acts in funny but can be offensive. They always get in trouble and act in a specific way that i guess the author thought young boys should act like back then. Everyone of them act so aggresive that they cant help threatening others that they are going to puch them in the nose, or actually punching them in the nose.
This actually also made me think about all these stupid social norms that have developed over the years. Like this social norm of glasses and how some people think that if you wear glasses than your a nerd, but in this book people actually were admiring the child who got glasses. They wouldn't leave him alone and they all wanted to try on his glasses. It really makes someone think about how stupid we humans are in letting what people think about us control are lives. People back then didn't care as much, and I don't think we should today either. If we let these people control our lives we wont be able to get anywhere in life and no one would be able to be their own unique self. No one would be able to express themselves and their wouldn't be any creativity in this bland world controlled by a non-existent object
